THROUGH TEXTURES AND HUMAN CONDITION
Much like the idyllic landscapes and stripped-down-to-the-essence characters in Felix Aftene’s work, EGE Carpets explores the boundless universe of design through technology and responsible processes.
The creative freedom that EGE Carpets offers allows this piece to stand out through its fine, meticulous details, translated from what was originally painted onto the textile surface of the carpet.
The realism of the work comes from the precision of the technology used. The technique injects polyamide fibers through 42,000 needles, followed by heat-setting of the yarn, locking in both color intensity and long-term durability.
The premium polyamide used not only helped achieve a flawless execution of the piece, but also supports a system built on circularity and sustainable raw materials.

Sustainability is treated with the same rigor as design—no compromises. The primary backing layers contain 90% recycled material, and the entire production process is built around systems designed to save and efficiently manage resources. Additives, heat, dyes, and water all come from processes focused on purification, recovery, and reuse of every component that ends up in the final carpet. And because this approach goes beyond just manufacturing, the EGE Circle Back program steps in to take back carpets at the end of their life cycle, keeping the recycling loop going.

Even though this carpet is made for heavy traffic and commercial spaces, the design freedom enabled by the production technique opens up a much wider range of uses. Whether installed on the floor or even on the wall, the experience goes beyond just sight-you can actually “hear” the space. The carpet directly impacts the room’s acoustics, absorbing sound with a coefficient of 0.20 αw (weighted alpha) and reducing impact noise by up to 28 dB, according to ISO standards. But the benefits don’t stop at acoustics-it also improves air quality by trapping dust particles and allergens in the spaces where it’s installed. The textile material captures a large portion of airborne impurities, enhancing overall indoor comfort.
Carpet&More, the official representative of EGE Carpets in Romania, has been active for over 20 years, delivering complete textile flooring solutions for high-traffic environments—hotels, restaurants, conference halls, office spaces, and public areas—always putting functionality, efficiency, return on investment, guest experience, and proven durability first.
On an international level, EGE Carpets continuously explores textile materials in a creative and responsible way. Since 1938, every carpet collection has been designed to bring personality to a space, enhanced comfort, and timeless design. Collaborations with established artists have helped strengthen the community and explore new ways to deliver key differentiating elements for every space. Whether we’re talking about collections signed by Tom Dixon, Monsieur Christian Lacroix, Nicolette Brunklaus, or ongoing contributions to cultural events like BRAFA Art Fair, Cannes Film Festival, Milan Design Week, or the well-known 3daysofdesign, all of these have played a role in delivering on their commitment to design and sustainability.

Together with Art Safari for the second year in a row, Carpet&More actively supports the mission of bringing art closer to the public and making culture more accessible to younger generations.
